Charity workshop: Web Accessibility - Guidelines and Implementation

On March 4, we organized a charity workshop with the aim of raising funds to help a Ukrainian refugee center in Poland. This initiative was born from the hand of Maria, one of our colivers. She is Ukrainian and wants to do her bit.

About the workshop

Web accessibility goes from being a trend to a necessity, to achieve a world without barriers. When sites and web tools are well designed and coded, everyone can use them, including people with disabilities. However, many of them have accessibility barriers.

Web accessibility is an inclusive practice that ensures that websites are accessible and that tools and technologies are designed and developed for use by people with disabilities. It is essential for developers and organizations that want to create quality websites, without excluding anyone. It benefits people, businesses and society as a whole.

Making websites more accessible has become a necessity and many companies are already working on it. With the entry into force of the European Accessibility Act, all online products and services are expected to be accessible by 2025.

The workshop will help Product Designers, UX/UI Designers, UX Researchers, Product and Project Managers, Tech Leads and so on, to design websites in such a way that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, interact and contribute to the web. During the session we would practice in groups how to implement accessibility guidelines to the product.
