Introducing Viu, the first sustainable coliving & coworking in Spain

Welcome to Viu! We are the first sustainable coliving and coworking in Spain. But what does that mean? We are committed to living and working in community and, for this purpose, we have created a building with these two spaces in the heart of Barcelona: The Sagrada Familia neighbourhood. 

 

Moreover, we don't just want to limit ourselves to community living, we want to do it in a sustainable way. Our building is constructed in a way that contributes positively to the environment, as well as promoting initiatives in our daily lives to improve our surroundings.    

 

A project born from the dream of creating a unique experience where people from all over the world work and live together and enjoy an active, creative and transformative lifestyle. 

 

Coliving and coworking in one place

If you are thinking of moving to Barcelona, this city offers a wide range of possibilities for living and working. At Viu, we wanted to go one step further with a building overlooking the Sagrada Familia where everything is under the same roof: flats, coworking areas, meeting rooms and event areas. An ideal combination to find the perfect work-life balance in a like-minded community. 

 

We are also aware that everyone has different needs and, for this reason, we offer different ways of living and working. At Viu you can find shared or complete flats, as well as coworking spaces with Fix or Flex rates. All of them equipped to join the community as soon as you decide to do so. An environment of stability and positivity with all the tools and resources you need to make the most of your experience in Barcelona.

 

We are committed to community life

Did you know that communal living has many benefits? Sharing accommodation and workspace with other people helps us to live more sustainably. Also, if you are in another city or country, it is an opportunity to create a support network and encourage the exchange of ideas between people.

 

For this reason, at Viu we encourage connections between our colivers and coworkers of all nationalities. In our daily life you will find spaces and tools that will help you meet and connect with both coliving guests and coworking workers. You can enjoy community breakfasts, events, talks with guest speakers, group classes or afterwork get-togethers.

Sustainable coliving and coworking

At Viu we are committed to a project that is responsible with the environment and future generations and, therefore, we don’t understand a community life that is not sustainable. 

 

In this sense, we have designed and built our first building in collaboration with Pich Architects (link), a leading architecture studio in sustainable construction. A building that actively contributes to improving the environment and the lives of the people who live and work in it.

 

Our sustainable building:

• It is built with recycled materials. 

• It has 18 photovoltaic panels to supply part of the building's energy. 
• It has a biodynamic passive design that helps us take advantage of existing environmental resources, such as a distribution of windows that favours ventilation to reduce the use of air conditioning. 

• It has certified lighting and air conditioning systems to ensure minimal impact on the environment. 

 

Thanks to these initiatives, we have the 3 green leaves certificate issued by the Green Building Council Spain (GBCe), a benchmark organisation in the sustainable model of the building sector. This recognises our commitment to more responsible urban planning and sustainable development.
