What public transport to use in Barcelona?

Barcelona has a large public transport network. In the case of Viu, our coliving and coworking, public transport is one of the most comfortable options due to its proximity to the metro and the different bus stops. In addition to being a much more sustainable and environmentally friendly option.

We leave you some information so that you can familiarize yourself:

Metro Barcelona

Barcelona's metro network has 8 metro lines and more than 160 stations covering the entire city. All the lines are connected to each other and, if you want to change from one to the other, you will only have to look for a station where the two lines coincide.

The closest station to our coliving and coworking is Sagrada Familia where you will find lines L2 and L5.

The Barcelona metro timetable is:

  • From Sunday to Thursday from 05:00h to 24:00h.
  • On Fridays the closing time is extended until 02:00h.
  • On Saturdays, the service starts at 05:00h and does not close during the night.

Here you will find more information about the Barcelona metro.

Bus Barcelona

Barcelona has a fleet of more than 1,100 buses that are divided into 106 lines with stops throughout the city. You will find two types of lines, the regular ones, which only have one number to identify them, and the fast transit ones, which have the following letters in front of the number:

  • Letter "V": means that the bus moves vertically through the city. Your tour will go from north to south or from south to north.
  • Letter "H": the bus will move horizontally throughout the city.
  • Letter "D": means that you run diagonally through the city.

The Barcelona bus schedule runs from 04:30h to 23:00h.

If you want to get around at night, there is a specific bus network called Nitbus. It has a total of 17 lines that operate from 22:00h to 06:00h. You will be able to recognize it because they have an "N" in front of the number of the line.

Near our coliving and coworking you will find several stops with lines 34, D50, H10 and H8.
